Looking for something fun and unique to do on the weekend from April through October? Join the IMMS Sea Explorers' Club!! Each Saturday, IMMS will offer programs that explore a variety of marine-themed topics and activities. Participants will earn a “Passport to Adventure” for every course. The Sea Explorers Club is a great way for children and adults to learn about the marine environment while having a great time! Please see below for details on each program offered. IMMS is proud to present a night of fun and excitement! Come, stay, and explore! The Ocean Expo-“Dozing with Dolphins” program is designed to be interactive and educational for all ages. Guests will participate in exciting educational activities, experience a behind-the-scenes tour, watch a movie on the “big screen,” feed live animals, and observe animal training presentations. The evening includes an overnight patch for participants, breakfast in the morning, and memories of a lifetime. This program was designed for scouting, by an Eagle Scout, but can be tailored to fit the needs of any type group. Ocean Expo-“Dozing with Dolphins” is available the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month except November and December (2nd Fridays only). Make your reservation and explore nature through a relaxing morning, afternoon, or sunset pontoon boat cruise in Back Bay Biloxi, the MS Sound, or the Tchoutacabouffa River. These three-hour cruises – offered April through October – will provide guests with habitat interpretations, bird identification, and incredible photo opportunities. Bring a friend and see nature “up close and personal” by paddling in two-person kayaks in Bayou Bernard. Two educators are provided for this three-hour adventures for habitat interpretations and bird identification. A minimum of 10 guests is required per reservation on these first and third Saturdays—offered April through October—from 9 a.m. until noon. Interested in fish? This three-hour class is for you! You’ll learn different fishing techniques, fish anatomy, and how to prepare fish fillets. Members will have a chance to practice their fishing skills by throwing cast nets, baiting crab traps, and using a rod and reel. For ages 5 and older. The Ocean Expo Explorers’ Club is offered on Saturdays at IMMS from 9 a.m.-12 noon. All fees must be paid in advance and program must have a minimum of 10 participants per program (15 for the Scenic Bayou Tour).
