Looking for something fun and unique to do on the weekend? Join the IMMS Sea Explorers' Club!! Each Saturday, IMMS will offer classes that explore a variety of marine-themed topics and activities. Participants will earn a “Passport to Adventure” for every course. The Sea Explorers Club is a great way for kids and adults to learn about the marine environment while having a great time! Take a leisurely, guided, tour through Bayou Bernard in a kayak built for two while an experienced guide provides interesting information about marine life, the marsh habitat, and the marine ecosystem. Enjoy the scenery and learn new skills while having tons of fun! Kayaks, life jackets, and bottled water will be provided. For ages 12 and older.
Fee: $30 per person
Interested in fish? This class is for you! You’ll learn different fishing techniques, fish anatomy, and how to prepare fish fillets. Members will have a chance to practice their fishing skills by throwing cast nets, baiting crab traps, and using a rod and reel. For ages 5 and older.
Fee: $12 per person
The Ocean Expo Explorers’ Club is offered on the first and third Saturdays at IMMS from 9 a.m.-12 noon.
